A film directed by William Wyler, where an enchanting Audrey Hepburn plays a little princess on a visit to the Italian capital. The film tells us about her meeting with a gossip journalist, their romantic love story and their final farewell. All shot in Rome, in a sort of fascinating tourist brochure that you will relive with us on the Roman Holiday tour, passing through the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna, Trinità dei Monti, Piazza Venezia and up to the Forum. Roman.

La dolce vita
“La dolce vita” (the sweet life) is a film by Fellini, released in 1960, starring Marcello Rubini, played by Marcello Mastroianni. The film represents the Roman dolce vita (i.e. “the sweet life”) in the late 1950s, depicted as a vulgar, cynical, chaotic world, devoid of values and pervaded by the terrible boredom of living. In our tour we will start from Piazza del Popolo, to pass from Piazza di Spagna and via Veneto and finish after the Trevi Fountain in Villa Borghese.

Villa Borghese in the cinema
Villa Borghese, the large park in the heart of the center of Rome, appears for the first time in the film directed by Luciano Emmer: “Domenica d’agosto”. The villa also appears as a setting in works by international directors such as Woody Allen in the film “To Rome with love”. Villa Borghese is also the poetic setting for the love between Jack and Monica. The symbolic places of the Villa Borghese in the cinema are: Piazza del Popolo, Temple of Aesculapius, Raphael’s house, fountain of the sea horses and the terrace of the Pincio.

Horror Cinema at Coppedè
The Coppedè district, which takes its name from its architect, is perhaps the most cinegenic district in Rome. In fact, Gino Coppedè built it inspired by the sets of the 1914 film Cabiria. Over the years, the Coppedè has hosted numerous film productions, such as scenes from horror films directed by Dario Argento, supernatural horror Omen by Richard Donner and many other. The symbolic places of the horror cinema tour at Coppedè are: Piazza Mincio, the fountain of the Frogs, the Palazzo del Ragno, the little houses of the Fairies.

Tour by Alberto Sordi
The actor Alberto Sordi is an icon of Italian and Roman cinema in particular, who had such an impact on the Italian collective imagination that he received a gallery in his name: the Galleria Sordi. He is the protagonist of numerous films set and shot in Rome, including: Un Americano a Roma (1954), La Grande Guerra (1959) and Il Vedovo (1959). Each of these films is shot in different areas of Rome, we can remember the famous scene of An American in Rome in which Nando, the protagonist, infatuated with America and Americans, climbs to the top of the Colosseum and threatens to throw himself into the void if not will get an American visa. On Alberto Sordi’s tour the main points of interest are the Marcello theater, Octavia portico, Campidoglio, Galleria Colonna, via Veneto and Villa Borghese.

Tour in the monumental Eur district
EUR is one of the most modern districts of Rome, chosen for this as the protagonist of many films. The suspended atmosphere and the architecture suitable for science fiction films made this neighborhood one of a kind. This place was chosen by Vittorio De Sica in 1963 to shoot the film entitled: “Il boom”. If you are interested in particular tours of Rome, this is the place for you! On the tour in the monumental EUR district you can visit the EUR lake, the Square Colosseum, the office building, the EUR staircase, the Sports Hall, Mushroom, the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.

Totò’s location
The actor Totò is the symbol of Italian comedy, and for this reason he is considered the “prince of laughter”. Visiting Rome it is possible to relive some scenes of the greatest masterpieces of which it is the protagonist. There are many films shot in the capital, such as: “La banda degli onesti”, in which the Teatro Marcello is the protagonist, or Totòtruffa 62, in which the legendary Totò sells the most famous fountain in the world: the Trevi fountain.
